How to Attract Women – Tips on Attracting Girls

Posted on 10. Mar, 2010 by admin in Attraction

Attracting Women

Do you have any doubt whether you can attract women by dint of your body language? Do you lack in confidence? You should not be. Be confident of the fact that you not only have the faculty of attracting women, but can also create a strong sexual tension that will turn the women on you very fast.

You must have watched martial arts experts performing their thrilling skills either on the venue or on television. None cannot but be impressed by the heroic deeds that they display. Almost all of the viewers cherish a deep desire in their hearts to possess that faculty of kicking and punching with a wheezing sound and smashing bricks or layers of tiles.

What most of the people do not imagine is the years of practice, hard work, and dedication that the performers have undergone. It is not that it happens only in case of martial arts. In fact, it happens in almost every case, even in case of attaining the tricks of attracting women. Here you are going to be provided with the basic guidelines for attracting women both sexually and platonically. Start trying the tips immediately so that you can get the women woo at you. Before that, let yourself be contented with the answers to some very frequently asked questions.

One of the most frequently asked questions is why a pick-up line work for one while it hardly works for you. Now, face it. If you have this question in your mind, let yourself be informed that it is not the pick-up line that works for him. It is the person himself that make wonders. It is very natural that the woman whom you choose to attract has been the target of the attention of at least ten to twenty other men, if not of a huge number of men. Therefore, you have to be unique in your lick-up line. It will also not suffice if you think a tremendously brilliant pick-up line. Still, you make a poor presentation of it. If it really happens, be sure of the fact that you have no chance of attracting women. You have to be original, genuine, and spontaneous to impress women since they usually hear such words hundred times over.

Now, you must be wondering what it is, then, that attracts women. It is nothing but confidence in a man, that makes all the difference. The more confident you are, more the chances of attracting women you have. It has happened to numerous people that they have ended up in utter failure in attracting women just because of their lacking confidence.

Confidence is something that is reflected by the way you walk, talk, and that way you make an approach to a woman. What is more important, the lack of confidence is much more prominent and distinct than confidence. The amazing fact is that the women are more efficient than men in sensing confidence in a person.

Delivery of your words plays a vital role for men in attracting women. It is true that what you say as your pick-up line is very important. What is even more important is how you deliver your words. It is for this reason that men who know the trick can woo so many women while those who are ignorant of the trick, can manage to woo none.

You have to keep in mind certain things before you venture out with the purpose of attracting women. The basic fact that you have to know and accept is that the women are extremely intuitive and sensitive. They judge almost every movement, looks, smile and word of men, either consciously or sub-consciously. They will judge the way you make an approach to her. The initial words of yours are very important since they will create an impression in the mind of the woman, which again, will have an impact on if the relationship will progress further or not.

If you want to gain a better and more upbeat attitude for attracting women, here are the ways.

Being a very ‘good man’ is a dire necessity for attracting women. Each and every movement of your should reflect that you are a man of good heart, vast thinking faulty, efficient decisiveness and a clear conception of what is just and unjust. Moral obligation should be upright and, yet, flexible. Men of stiff personality have proved to be big failures in attracting women.

Are you wondering as to how you would establish that you are really a good man? You cannot of course, tell it every time that you are a good man. Nor can you make others say it for you. It is your dealings with the woman that will reveal your goodness of heart, boldness of character, charm of personality and flexibility of nature. Do never commit the blunder of making a forced projection of your goodness. That is enough to demean all the impressions that you create by you true goodness.

Your dealings with the other people around should also reflect the same natures of yours. Be dynamic but not dubious. Dubiousness of nature or character can put an end to all your hopes of attracting women. Behave with people with respect that they deserve, whatever low status they may belong to. You may not agree with their way of thinking all the time. However, it should be clear that you have consideration and respect for their thoughts even though you do not agree with them.

Body language is also one of the key factors that play an important role in attracting women. Your body language is something that will provide the women with a lot of information about you. Your way of thinking, your basic natures and even what you will do in what situations are clearly revealed by your body languages if they are observed, which the women do instinctively. You body language will make it clear if you are cool-headed or short tempered, stiff or flexible, confident of nervous, and even good or bad.

Here are some tips following which you may improve your body language in your effort of attracting women.

· Do not shake or move much before the woman whom you have targeted to woo or to make her woo at you. Do not present a callus smile on seeing a woman. It is quite funny as well as ridiculous to watch. Do not make any unnecessary movements for the extra energy that you feel. Do not even play cooler than you really are. Do not feel nervous. Even if you feel nervous, do not try to be over smart, as most men tend to be in these situations. Be exactly what you are, that will help you in attracting women.

· Do not move your hands in order to make her understand anything. She will probably be irritated by the movements of your hands. It is not also preferable that you will keep your hands within your pockets. If it is chilling cold outside and if you do not have a pair of gloves, you may keep your hands in pocket. That is also you have to do in a manner that it does not seem quite unnatural and uneasy.

· The third one among the tips advises you not to not to be too close to the woman. Whenever you sit or stand with the woman, make it sure that you are not too close to the woman. Keep a distance so that it never appears that you are not so too deeply absorbed in desire. In that case, she may feel uncomfortable and uneasy. It is up to your responsibility that she must not feel uneasy with you even for a single second. The suggestion is never that you will not get close to the woman. Do get close to the woman. However, take enough care that the process of your getting close to the woman never seems to be premeditated. The more spontaneous it seems, the better it is for you. Be a bit slow in the process of getting closer to the woman. That closeness will exist forever.

· It should never seem that you are being too tensed while speaking to the woman or while conversing with the woman. Stay as relaxed as you can. Lean against something if you find something to lean against. It should never seem that you feel awkward at any situation, however embarrassing it may be. Try to control situations to the best of your ability. It will help you to create confidence in the woman on you. If it strikes to the woman that you are a man who can handle very tough situations with a cool head, there is nothing better for you. Be quite casual instead of being formal. That will help you to be very free with the woman. Nevertheless, make it sure that your casualness never appears to be your lack of sense or proper behavior. Above all this, keeping your head cool in all the situations, is a dire necessity for you if you are interested in attracting women.

How to Motivate yourself to Make More Sales

Posted on 10. Mar, 2010 by admin in Motivation

Copyright (c) 2008 Gavin Ingham

Motivated salespeople and entrepreneurs make more sales than their less motivated counterparts. Having a miserable countenance, a poor attitude and a bad physiology never made a good salesperson and it never will.

Your motivation, your mindset and your actions are critical in helping you to achieve your goals and close the sales and build the business that you want. When I am invited to companies one of the most common questions asked by sales managers, sales directors and business owners alike is, “How do I get and keep my sales teams motivated?”

Indeed, one of the most common questions asked of me by salespeople themselves is, “How do I get and keep myself motivated?”

Most people do not understand how and why they get motivated and therefore their motivation levels tend to ebb and flow like the daily tides. Few people have total control of their own motivation levels. Salespeople know that they need to be motivated to sell, they want to be motivated to sell, but often they just cannot maintain that all important motivation to sell.

Motivation tip 1:

Motivation begins and ends with you. You determine your own motivation. Motivation is internal, it’s something that you control; even though you may not realise that this is the case. Many people believe that motivation is something that happens to them. For this reason they and their sales results get buffeted severely throughout life.

Sales superstars do not believe or act this way. Sales superstars know that their personal motivation is down to them. No matter what anyone else does or says they get to choose their own motivation levels. No matter whether they get the deal or they lose the deal, they get to choose their own motivation levels. No matter whether life’s going the way they want or it’s not, they get to choose their own motivation levels. And it’s that choice that sets them apart and defines them as the rock stars of sales.

If you want to join the ranks of the sales rock star elite now then you need to take responsibility for your motivation on a day to day, hour to hour, minute to minute and moment to moment basis…

Step 1 is to decide to do just that. To decide to hold yourself to a higher standard, to decide that nothing short of operating at the optimum level is acceptable for you anymore, to decide that you are a sales rock star.

Step 2 is to employ effective strategies for boosting your motivation and staying on top of your game. One powerful way to get that jolt is by sharing proven techniques so this post is a double whammy – you gain by reading & you gain by sharing.

Start by making a list of ways that you can motivated both yourself and your team and take time to employ them on a daily basis.

Happy selling.

Reap The Benefits Of Staying Organized

Posted on 10. Mar, 2010 by admin in Organizing

There are many benefits to staying organized and it is well worth the effort even though it is sometimes difficult. Many individuals have had parents, teachers, administrators, bosses and spouses shouting the mantra at them throughout their lives, and they may still put the task aside. In the end, organization is a key to success. Whether you are organizing binders, your kitchen, your garage, your desk or anything else, getting organized is crucial.

One of the first major benefits of organization is how it makes you look. When somebody walks into your house, they are often impressed by organization and neatness. Keeping a home organized is often a difficult task. The key is to be consistent. One cannot clean once every spring and expect the organization to last until next year. It needs to be a constant process. Always put things back where they belong, be willing to adapt your system to your life, and get the best materials to help you organize. These suggestions can help you turn your house into an efficient place.

Organizing your house is also beneficial because it makes everything easy to find and it reduces stress since the next time you clean, the process is usually much easier. Quality shelving helps you keep books, magazines and other miscellaneous items neat and tidy. Plastic containers are great when it comes to storing items that are always in the way. The key is to remove the clutter. Excess items may always make your house look bad. Manage your belongings well, and you can be well on your way to getting organized.

You are probably wondering how this can help you. Imagine for a moment that your boss is coming to your house for a visit. Now it is time to panic. You begin hurrying to make everything look perfect, but in the end, something is always wrong. You may not have storage space for everything, but if your house is constantly organized, then the boss’ visit is more manageable. Getting cleaned up is simple, and everything should have its place. This can leave a wonderful impression with anybody who visits your home. Your home is a window into your personal identity. Maintaining an organized home can set you apart in the workplace as well. Being efficient and productive every day at work can be wiped away with a poorly organized home. However, a well-organized house can help you gain substantially in the workplace.

Beyond making you look good; having a well organized home will help relieve stress. Buy an all-in-one valet to help you take care of the little things that are always around the house. A good valet will store your cell phone, iPod, keys, wallet, and any other small object that is hard to find a place for. Many will even have built in note pads, making it easier to remind yourself of important occasions. All of this will make the process of getting out of the house easier. For many, getting to places on time is stressful, and often impossible. But if you organize these small items, your process is much easier.

Organization helps remove stress in ways beyond getting out of the house. Having a well-organized living space makes it much easier to clean regularly. For many, cleaning is a chore because it is always a huge project. There are many items out of place, and it becomes tedious and time consuming. Having an organized living area makes cleaning much easier. It is a simple matter of straightening, vacuuming and dusting. Cleaning can become a breeze in a well organized house.

Beyond cleaning, an organized life is much less stressful because everything is easier to locate. No more shuffling through papers for an hour to find the right document. Instead it is in a logical place that is easy to find. The same goes for bills, books and even movies. Getting organized can streamline your life as a whole and make it less stressful.

The benefits of getting organized are manifold, and with the right amount of effort, anybody can reach them. Take the time to get organized and you can make yourself look better. One also relieves stress greatly with an organized lifestyle. Becoming organized is not very difficult, yet it is something that causes many people to procrastinate. After you straighten up your house, it should become much easier to clean the next time. So take the time to get organized this year, and keep it up. It can make you life much better. The benefits are endless but the main reasons to get organized is stress relief and knowing that everything is put away in a logical place and you no longer have to worry about losing an important document. Next time you decide to put aside getting organized, you may want to consider these benefits.

Do You Lack Inspiration?

Posted on 10. Mar, 2010 by admin in Inspirational

Inspiration is a powerful thing and it can really help you to change your life. Without inspiration people tend to give up trying to change their lives, and for those who do still try; they find it an impossible journey because there is nothing to give them any motivation to carry on. So just how do you find inspiration?

Inspiration is all Around You

Every single one of us is different and we all strive for different things. Due to these differences the things which give us inspiration also differs. The good news however is that there is inspiration all around you no matter what you are trying to achieve. You just have to look hard enough and you will find it!

If you are trying to lose weight for example, you may find inspiration in friends and in family, in magazines or even in the clothes that you would love to fit into. If you want to change your job you could find inspiration in people who have already made the change that you want to make. Even though we are all different, there are always people who have been through similar things to what we have and who understand what we are going though. By surrounding ourselves with people who understand, it will give us the inspiration we need to make the necessary changes.

Overall we all need people to look up to. Many people have a favourite celebrity that they admire. Others admire friends and family. That admiration gives you inspiration and it can affect how you live your life. It does not matter who the person is that you admire, just as long as they do provide positive inspiration. It is powerful and it really can help. So if you do want to develop the motivation that you need to change things, you need to surround yourself with whatever it is that inspires you.

Your Next Steps in Finding Inspiration

Now you know what inspiration is and how it can change your life, you now need to make a plan for yourself. Ask yourself the following questions:

What is it I want to achieve?

Do I know anybody who has gone through anything similar to what I am going through?

Is this change really important to me?

Once you have answered the above questions you will know what kind of inspiration you need. It is then your job to find that inspiration and hold onto it with both hands. You could keep a photograph with you at all times which is inspirational to you. Or perhaps you find quotes or music inspirational? Once you find what it is that helps you, keep it with you as much as you can. That way the inspiration will stay with you at all times and you will never lose your focus.

How to Become a Wellness Coach

Posted on 10. Mar, 2010 by admin in Coaching

Since switching careers in 2005 I’ve found it absolutely astonishing the amount of questions I continually get from people interested in becoming a wellness coach. Back when I was in the environmental software industry I can’t remember one time that a person had asked me to provide an informational interview! Now it seems that I get a request for this at least monthly – and I love sharing what I do.

With all these requests in mind, I thought it would be a good idea to share my experience with wellness coaching, provide some background on what exactly coaching is, and give those of you with interest in learning more a foundation for making decisions as to how you might want to move forward.

What is a Wellness Coach?

This is an excellent question and a good starting point for these discussions. ‘Wellness’ has become a popular word as of late – and it carries with it a vast array of meanings based on who you talk to. Wellness coaches support their clients in creating lifestyle change such that they get more of their definition of wellness into their lives. You notice that I emphasize a key element of coaching is to listen to and understand how the client defines wellness as that is really what is important to improve their life.

How does a Wellness Coach differ from a Nutritionist or Trainer?

There are many Wellness Coaches that are nutritionists and personal trainers, however not all trainers and nutritionists are Wellness Coaches (and vice versa). The biggest difference is the approach that is taken towards achieving goals. A personal trainer is typically hired to provide guidance, motivation, education, hands on support and to tell you how to achieve your goals. This support is very appropriate in many cases. A nutritionist has a similar function, they are trained to provide information, guidance and design a recipe for success when someone has very specific dietary needs and goals. Again, they serve a fantastic role in supporting their clients through the questions they have.

A Wellness Coach takes a much different approach when working with clients. Fundamentally a coach assumes that you have your own answers. Certainly there are opportunities for education and sharing information when appropriate (and this information should be shared only in the coaches areas of expertise), however the focus of a wellness coach is one of empowering the client to clearly see for themselves the most appropriate path forward such that they can make sustainable, long term lifestyle changes. This is much different than telling them what they need to do today. It involves discussing goals, a vision, and designing a plan together.

A wellness coach will ask empowering questions to the client that re-enforce their compelling reasons to make healthy lifestyle decisions rather than telling them the reason why they should make change. A coach will provide tools for motivation, goal setting, self discovery and embrace the fact that no two clients will need to have the same approach in making lifestyle change. As you can see the quality and depth of conversation that a wellness coach and a trainer will be very different.

Corporate and Private opportunities for Wellness Coaching?

10 years ago, there were very few people operating under the title of ‘Wellness Coach’. For that matter the term ‘Life Coach’ was extremely rare to come by as well – both are careers that have been recognized in the mainstream today. Many Wellness Coaches operate their own business. They draw from their background, market themselves, and present a coaching offering to clients that benefit from their services. Typically a wellness coach will work with clients in the area of nutrition, exercise, weight control, stress management, and some coach on areas of relationships, sleep quality, disease management, and life balance. If you are interested in knowing the specific areas that a coach focuses on – refer to his/her biography, as the topics can vary. Generally speaking, unless the coach is branching out into other talents/markets, they tend to focus on these primary areas.

With the growing trends towards increased longevity and increased waist size – it seems that the market for these talents would be huge. The truth is that there is a huge need – however as a new occupation just gaining recognition in the mainstream society you still see relatively few wellness coaches in relation to conventional healthcare practitioners, nutritionists, trainers etc. This is often why you see many coaches wear multiple hats.

Many more opportunities are beginning to arise in the corporate environment. A number of progressive companies (including Sutter Health in Northern California) are recognizing the value of designing healthy lifestyle’s as a preventative measure such to curb escalating health care costs. A handful of employers are offering wellness coaching programs as an employee incentive. Its simply good business to show this commitment to their employees. Implementing Wellness Coaching programs creates a corporate culture of health and wellness, it facilitates learning, and most importantly is welcomed by employees looking for the key to making sustainable lifestyle changes.

For those wondering if they can get a job with a company offering these services, you may find that these corporate jobs at the moment are few and far between (but there are always opportunities if you create them). I personally expect a number of new wellness initiatives to explode in corporate America within the next decade. A large part of this will be varieties of wellness coaching programs.

What kind of training do you need to be a Wellness Coach?

A good question to ask is what differentiates a wellness coach from a nutritionist or trainer. The fact of the matter is that there are no ‘requirements’ for an individual to label their business as ‘coaching’. We see this trend in executive coaching, life coaching, business coaching, and real estate coaching. There are no laws that require a certain certification to call yourself a coach in any field! So go ahead and call yourself a coach – but be ready to explain why you are a coach and not a trainer etc. when someone asks (obviously this is not my recommendation).

So that is interesting – then what kind of training do I typically need. Well a strong foundation in nutrition, exercise physiology, stress management, or combination of these will be a great starting point. To truly master coaching, I would recommend going through an accredited coach training program to learn the keys to communicating as a coach and supporting people in finding their own answers. Typically one of these courses takes 12 months to 3 years as they require a number of practical application hours as well. There are a variety of programs with different emphasis, so my suggestion is to find one that fits well with you.

There are programs specifically tailored for wellness coaches to learn the fundamentals of coaching in relation to health and wellness. These tend to be shorter courses (on the range of 3-6 months) and are not accredited by the major credentialing organizations. The most popular example is wellcoaches – an online/on phone training program that gives you the basics and foundation of becoming a coach. This is a great start – my personal preference is a full life coach training program as it goes into great depth for developing listening schools and understanding client perspectives and I found the program I attended to be absolutely fantastic.

As a side note – I strongly believe that within the next 10 years we will also see a change in the coaching industry. The International Coach Federation and other credentialing agencies are pushing strongly to honor and recognize the title of ‘Coach’ or- similar to that of RDA, MFT etc. The current credentials available through the ICF are ACC (associate certified coach), PCC (professional certified coach) and MCC (master certified coach).

The Future of Wellness Coaching

Having a private business and working in the corporate environment I’ve seen huge changes in the past couple years alone. I have no reason to believe that wellness coaching will slow its pace of growth. As I introduced this article, I mentioned how often I am asked the question of what it is that I do and how can I get involved. This is exciting to me as it shows me how much interest and concern there is in changing our countries wellness perspective. This is exciting to me and seeing the shift in our mentality and lifestyle to one of prevention rather than treatment is a huge step in the right direction.

The Ultimate Time Management Tool for Adults with ADD

Posted on 10. Mar, 2010 by admin in Time Management

If you’re finding yourself procrastinating today, then I’ve got a great tip that can help you ease into your tasks and manage your time more efficiently.

Time management is one of the biggest challenges that adults with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) face. A lack of time management skills causes significant stress, frustration, and overwhelm.

While different combinations of tools and strategies work for different people, one time management tool that I insist on for all my clients is a to-do list.

When used properly, your to-do list is one of the most powerful tools in your ADD management toolbox. Some adults with ADD resist using a to-do list because they view it as an enemy, rather than as a tool. The goal becomes to cross everything off the list and be done with it. But that’s not the best way to use a to-do list.

Think of your to-do list as your friend. Your list helps you keep track of what you need and want to get done, as well as what you have done.

Your to-do list as a living, breathing thing. You’ll add things to it almost every day. And hopefully you’ll cross things off it every day, too! Your to-do list will change constantly, and it will always be necessary.

To create your to-do list, use a pad of paper, an online program or document, or whatever feels comfortable for you. Then, at least once every day:

1. Cross off, highlight, or in some way acknowledge everything that you accomplished on your list.

2. Update your list with new projects and tasks.

3. Rewrite your list as necessary to clean it up and make it easy to read.

4. Use your to-do list in conjunction with any other time management tools that you use to help you plan for and schedule in your tasks.

Bonus Tip: You may want to keep a separate list for all those “great ideas” that pop into your head that you want to accomplish, but don’t have the time for right now.

Developing a habit of using a to-do list takes practice. It may take some time to stick. But with a solid commitment to the process, you’ll be effectively managing your time and to-dos, and keeping overwhelm at bay.

To-do lists are the ultimate time management tool for adults with ADD. Many of us will need additional tools to effectively manage our time, but using a to-do list is a great place to start!

7 Steps to Success

Posted on 10. Mar, 2010 by admin in Success

7 Steps to Success
Step One: Realize the Need for Change Albert Einstein defined insanity as, “Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” The important first step on the road to success is realizing the need for change in your life. If the things you have been doing aren’t helping you on the path to success, why continue to do them? Reasons many people avoid change include not understanding the need for change and the comfort of the familiar. You are sacrificing your own future success for the ease of doing nothing. Once you realize the need for change, you have taken the first step.
Step 2: Goal Setting and Planning OK, you know what you have been doing isn’t working. What do you want? You need to know what you want out of life in order to go after it. Spend some time setting both long and short term goals. Sit down with a pen and paper and write some goals. What do you want to achieve in the next few months and years?

Once you have established your overall goals in life, you can do some planning for how you will attain the goals you have set. Don’t worry if you aren’t exactly sure how you will reach your goals. Do not let this stop you from making a plan and acting on it. “You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.” ~Martin Luther King, Jr.

ResetYourReality.SuccessUniversity.com has a weekly success plan which can help you define your goals and plan how to achieve them. The curriculum is designed to help you reach your success goals in as little as 12 months. You will learn valuable tools for goal setting, personal development, time management, networking and much more.
Step 3: Education For the successful person, education does not end when you receive your diploma. The most successful people are learning all the time. The skills you need to be successful can all be learned, but these skills are not taught in school. You need to seek out this knowledge. resetYourReality.SuccessUniversity.com has created a program with the help of some of the most successful people in the country. The best way to learn the keys to success is from those who have used them to their full advantage.
Step 4: Find a Mentor or Mentors The mentor-protégé relationship is rooted in our history and has helped countless people on the path to success. In fact, the Mentor first appeared in Homer’s epic The Odyssey. Odysseus leaves his son and kingdom in the care of Mentor. Mentoring is successfully used in programs for kids, business, the medical profession, the Arts and many other areas due to the value of the mentor-protégé model.

Finding mentors is not always an easy task. If you are lucky, there is a professional or successful person in your life willing to act as a mentor. Otherwise, you will have to seek out advice and coaching. A huge benefit of the Success University program is access to mentors and coaches to help you past the pitfalls and hurdles in your path.
Step 5: Persistence Pays Off The most successful people are persistent. They don’t back down or give up in the face of challenge or even great difficulty. Somehow, they stick to it, persevere and overcome the obstacles. This is an important quality to cultivate in yourself in order to reach your goals and achieve success. Motivation is critical to perseverance. You have to be motivated to stick to your plans, even in the face of great challenge. Following a weekly success plan can really help you stay motivated and achieve success.
Step 6: Repetition How did you learn to read? How did you learn to ride a bike? How did you learn to drive a car? It wasn’t learned in five minutes, but had to be practiced over and over again. Repetition is an important component to success. The more you do something, the better you will get at it. This is a fact that is well known to teachers and parents. The same holds true when learning skills and tools for success. You need to get out there, learn what you need to know and repeat the skills and strategies you learn at Success University in order to make a real change in your life.
Step 7: Start NOW! There are a million reasons to procrastinate and put off taking the first steps on the road to success. Don’t fall into this trap. Procrastination is your worst enemy, if you are serious about achieving success. The months and years wasted with a mindset of “I’ll do it tomorrow,” or “Someday, I will…” can never be reclaimed. Don’t let one more day slip away. Grief Recovery for women

Posted on 10. Mar, 2010 by admin in Grief

What do women do when hardship/tragedy happens? We connect. Of course we may isolate and get depressed, but usually, as women, we have the advantage of being more open to accessing our feelings and talking to others about our sorrow and fear. We do this with friends, family members, other women, and partners. And now we are doing it online! I recently ran across a blog site called blogher.com. The page I was drawn to is titled “Women moving through grief, inspiring as they go”.

There, Mata H. describes the grief and loss she sees all around-saying that it’s hard to find anyone (especially in their 50’s) who hasn’t been dealing with something really difficult directly or indirectly, say, the loss of a child, elderly ill parents, a friend or family member dealing with cancer. We are all subject to challenges and problems going on in the world around us, and no one is immune, from children to octogenarians. Even in “good times” when there is less stress, we must all cope with the uncertainty of life’s ups and downs, such as the threat of war, financial crisis, global warming, and disease.

Grief or bereavement is a natural part of the process of recovering from loss, whether it be a tangible loss, like death, or a less tangible loss, like loss of trust or faith in someone or something. Traumatic experiences bring complex grief, because there is a general loss of security and safety at the time of the trauma.

It is better to feel grief than to shut down and push those feelings away. And, this may need to happen very slowly and carefully depending on the depth of the loss. Everyone has their own way of grieving even though there are stages of grief you may have heard about–denial, , bargaining, depression, acceptance. Bereavement can resemble clinical depression with low mood, tearfulness, difficulty sleeping, loneliness, loss of appetite, and irritability as possible symptoms. If you have been traumatized in the past, then grief can be a double-whammy–because there is the previous loss and also the current loss to cope with. Because the overlap between grief and depression is common, you might decide to get some grief counseling to determine if your situation warrants help in the form of therapy or medication.

There is no real right or wrong way to recover from grief. However, connecting with others in any manner, whether it is live or online, is a good idea, as long as there is caring and support in the connection. For those of you who are lucky enough to have good friends and relatives who are there for you, you know what I mean. And if you are struggling to find support, please consider taking the risk to reach out.

How Spiritual Life Coaching Works

Posted on 10. Mar, 2010 by admin in Spirituality

Now that people are learning more about life coaching, it seems that more and more niche areas are emerging out of the coaching centers. Spiritual life coaching is one such specialty that has been gaining a lot of attention in the past few years. And while the proposition might sound a little iffy, spiritual life coaching offers much growth in an area that’s often neglected.

Spiritual Life Coaching: Is It for You?

Do you often feel discontented with your life, as if there’s always something missing? Or are you facing a radical change of religious and spiritual beliefs? Spiritual life coaching website might be a good idea for you.

A good number of the spiritual coaches you’ll find focus only on a particular spirituality such as Christian tradition or spiritualist beliefs. There are some spiritual life coaches, though, that still stick to the general and more universal definition of the field. Such coaches will be your best bet, especially if you’re unsure about the direction where your spirituality is going.

People who are hesitating to enter a new spiritual commitment or are having trouble sticking to an existing one will benefit the most from spiritual coaching. A spiritual life coach won’t make the decision for you, but will instead help you make the spiritual decisions that you’ve so far been apprehensive about making.

Finding the Right Spiritual Coach

Spiritual life coaching is much more personal and intimate than your regular life coaching sessions. Your spirituality is probably something that you don’t discuss with other people, so finding the right kind of coach is important for you to feel comfortable about your sessions. If you end up with a coach that you don’t fully trust or connect with, your sessions won’t be as productive as they should be.

A good spiritual life coach is someone who holds no biases for any single belief structure; you should immediately think twice of anyone who tries to sell you into some new religion. It’s also important that your coach have a lot of exposure to many different beliefs. That way, he or she would be used to people like you who are in a spiritual flux or limbo. He or she’d also be able to tell you the subtle differences between beliefs.

What to Expect

The ’spiritual’ term alone already suggests an air of mystery and secrecy, but real spiritual life coaching isn’t as flamboyant as that. In fact, spiritual coaching sessions are very similar to regular ones for life coaching in terms of content and structure. Many life coaching techniques are even used for spiritual coaching sessions, albeit in a slightly modified form.

Your spiritual life coach won’t be pushing you toward any decision, but he or she will be helping you find a decision for yourself. Typical activities include things like journal keeping and personal reflections, which are designed to bring out your personal insights on different things.

Unless you have a very strong spiritual foundation, you probably need spiritual coaching or will do so at some point in the future. With the right coach to help guide you on your path, you might just find it to be a very enlightening experience.

Finding a spiritual life coach can be the hardest part in getting spiritual life coaching. Project-Transform has a team of highly qualified coaches with diverse backgrounds that will help you find a path – even if you started the coaching sessions without one. Should you ever have any questions, please don?t hesitate to contact a Project-Transform spiritual life coach today by sending an e-mail to coaching@project-transform.com or clicking at spiritual life coaching website.

Leadership Exposed: Things You Thought You Knew About Leadership

Posted on 09. Mar, 2010 by admin in Leadership

Much has been written about leadership: rules, pointers, styles, and biographies of inspiring leaders throughout world history. But there are certain leadership ideas that we ourselves fail to recognize and realize in the course of reading books. Here is a short list of things you thought you knew about leadership.

1. Leaders come in different flavors.

There are different types of leaders and you will probably encounter more than one type in your lifetime. Formal leaders are those we elect into positions or offices such as the senators, congressmen, and presidents of the local clubs. Informal leaders or those we look up to by virtue of their wisdom and experience such as in the case of the elders of a tribe, or our grandparents; or by virtue of their expertise and contribution on a given field such as Albert Einstein in the field of Theoretical Physics and Leonardo da Vinci in the field of the Arts. Both formal and informal leaders practice a combination of leadership styles.

Lewin’s three basic leadership styles: authoritative, participative, and delegative

Likert’s four leadership styles: exploitive authoritative, benevolent authoritative, consultative, and participative

Goleman’s six emotional leadership styles – visionary, coaching, affiliative, democratic, pacesetting, and commanding.

2. Leadership is a process of becoming.

Although certain people seem to be born with innate leadership qualities, without the right environment and exposure, they may fail to develop their full potential. So like learning how to ride a bicycle, you can also learn how to become a leader and hone your leadership abilities.

Knowledge on leadership theories and skills may be formally gained by enrolling in leadership seminars, workshops, and conferences. Daily interactions with people provide the opportunity to observe and practice leadership theories. Together, formal and informal learning will help you gain leadership attitudes, gain leadership insights, and thus furthering the cycle of learning.

You do not become a leader in one day and just stop. Life-long learning is important in becoming a good leader for each day brings new experiences that put your knowledge, skills, and attitude to a test.

3. Leadership starts with you.

The best way to develop leadership qualities is to apply it to your own life. As an adage goes “action speaks louder than words.” Leaders are always in the limelight. Keep in mind that your credibility as a leader depends much on your actions: your interaction with your family, friends, and co-workers; your way of managing your personal and organizational responsibilities; and even the way you talk with the newspaper vendor across the street.

Repeated actions become habits. Habits in turn form a person’s character. Steven Covey’s book entitled “7 Habits of Highly Effective People” provides good insights on how you can achieve personal leadership.

4. Leadership is shared.

Leadership is not the sole responsibility of one person, but rather a shared responsibility among members of an emerging team. A leader belongs to a group. Each member has responsibilities to fulfill.

Formal leadership positions are merely added responsibilities aside from their responsibilities as members of the team. Effective leadership requires members to do their share of work. Starting as a mere group of individuals, members and leaders work towards the formation of an effective team. In this light, social interaction plays a major role in leadership.

To learn how to work together requires a great deal of trust between and among leaders and members of an emerging team. Trust is built upon actions and not merely on words. When mutual respect exists, trust is fostered and confidence is built.

5. Leadership styles depend on the situation.

How come dictatorship works for Singapore but not in the United States of America? Aside from culture, beliefs, value system, and form of government, the current situation of a nation also affects the leadership styles used by its formal leaders. There is no rule that only one style can be used. Most of the time, leaders employ a combination of leadership styles depending on the situation.

In emergency situations such as periods of war and calamity, decision-making is a matter of life and death. Thus, a nation’s leader cannot afford to consult with all departments to arrive at crucial decisions. The case is of course different in times of peace and order—different sectors and other branches of government can freely interact and participate in governance.

Another case in point is in leading organizations. When the staffs are highly motivated and competent, a combination of high delegative and moderate participative styles of leadership is most appropriate. But if the staffs have low competence and low commitment, a combination of high coaching, high supporting, and high directing behavior from organizational leaders is required.

Now that you are reminded of these things, keep in mind that there are always ideas that we think we already know; concepts we take for granted, but are actually the most useful insights on leadership.
